The Badisch Weinstraße is one of the oldest and longest in Europe. At over 200 kilometers long, the Baden-Württemberg wine route incorporates 5 wine growing districts, the Ortenau, Kaiserstuhl, Tuniberg, Breisgau and Markgräftlerland.
Baden-Württemberg is the 4th largest wine producing region in Germany.
The region specialises in the red grape varietals of Pinot Noir, Spätburgunder and Trollinger.
Here in Baden-Württemberg you will find many Internationally recognised, Award winning wines made by small family owned wineries.
Baden-Württemberg not only produces the finest Pinot Noir’s but also revels in nurturing other varietals such as Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Muskateller, Gutedel and Chardonnay.
The wines from Baden-Württemberg are a rare find indeed, as they are hardly ever exported, the production being kept mostly in Germany for the domestic market.
Often compared to the great Pinot Noir’s of Burgundy, on this tour you will get to experience these fascinating wines that have upon numerous occasions out performed those from Burgundy.
