Cheese and wine tasting in Basel with the Kilted sommelier
At wineweinvinovin we wished to begin something a little bit different from all of the other cheese and wine tastings that you might have been to in the past.
We thought why not host our event here in our beautiful home in the centre of historic Basel. After all, you are in one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland.
Here we can entertain you in a relaxed, informal atmosphere – none of that stuffy classroom approach!
We will focus on giving you a friendly, relaxed, informative and interactive cheese and wine tasting experience in our own home.
We don’t do mass tourism, after all we are inviting you into our own home (max. 6 people per session).
We want you to have fun, feel the energy of new knowledge, the frisson of being empowered to taste new and exciting cheese and wines.
We feel that in a small group of friends and like-minded people, you will have the confidence to ask questions you may not have asked in the past.
We are passionate about what we do and we want you to feel the same!
During this 1.5 – 2 hour tasting, we’ll guide you through 4 local cheeses and 6 wines especially selected for the evening.
We have designed this tasting with you at its centre, just enough talk about wine and cheese, yet more importantly, enough time for you to enjoy the experience.
Learn what makes these cheeses so unique and diverse, get to know their tastes, aromas, methods of production and even their history. We will also taste 6 fabulous wines that not only enhance these flavours but amplify and perfectly demonstrate the relationship between them.
At the end of this session you will take away knowledge on cheese production, winemaking, how to taste wine, food and wine pairing tips and perhaps a few other secrets.
Whether you know a little about wine and cheese, or nothing at all, our tastings are suitable for everyone.
You will leave us as a wine & cheese expert.
This wonderful taste experience is available Monday to Saturday from February to December.
We require a minimum of 4 people per tasting session.
