(sample tour itinerary)

Create unforgettable, magical memories that you will cherish and treasure forever, from your visit to what is without question, the most beautiful and picturesque region in all of France.

Meet Colin, your knowledgeable tour guide and wine expert, at your hotel in either Colmar or Basel, where we will both begin and end your tour to this enchanting and fascinating wine region.

Your WineWeinVinoVin wine tasting experience, begins with a trip along the celebrated Routes des Vins d’Alsace. This is a 105-mile road (170-km) that weaves its way through the lush vineyard decorated slopes of the magnificent Vosges Mountains.

“Colin is a wonderful, never ending source of facts, anecdotes and histories. He knows his stuff, both concerning wine and the history of the lovely villages and the countryside. There’s no question that cannot be asked. All of which Colin brings with an abundance of style and good humour. We learned so much about Alsatian wines in one delightful afternoon. 11/10 would recommend this tour.” joopf153 Nov. 2022 (TripAdvisor).

Together we will make our way through the bewitching départment of the Haut-Rhin, where during the course of the day, we will stop at four small artisanal wineries to taste and savour the magnificent wines for which Alsace is rightfully acclaimed, including Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Riesling.

On your wine tasting tour, you will learn about the rich diversity of grapes grown, the influence of the many varied soils and the importance of terroir.

All whilst enjoying the exclusive, personal attention in a small group of like minded wine enthusiasts (limited to between 2 – 6 people per wine tour).

Our first stop will be in the charming ancient (UNESCO) village of Eguisheim, which dates back to the early 13th century.

Here you will encounter an esteemed wine producing family whose multi-award winning wines are produced strictly in accordance with organic and bio-dynamic practices. The winemaker is an authority and pioneering exponent of Bio-diversity in the creation of a natural eco-system for his vines. He firmly believes in the harmonisation of soil, plants, animals (and most importantly for us on this tour), his vines as an integrated whole living organism, respecting mother nature. It is because of this steadfast philosophy that his wines are rightfully highly respected and venerated not only by wine professionals and journalists, but with wine lovers and connoisseurs around the globe.

Wine Tour 2

The second destination of your wine tour is the alluringly, beautiful medieval village of Riquewihr, which is considered by many people, to be one of the most picturesque villages in the whole of Alsace.

The Vigneron’s of Riquewihr produce unquestionably, many of the most exquisitely dry white wines to be found anywhere in the region, especially Riesling for which the Schonenbourg Grand Cru is justifiably famous. It is here in Riquewihr, that you will taste sparkling Crémant d’Alsace, (made using the traditional champagne method) also the deliciously fragrant, and multi-layered Gewürztraminer wine, famous for its spicy, fragrant, fruity character, amongst many other wonderful wines.

It is in Riquewihr, where we will then stop for approximately 1 hour. Here, you are free to either take lunch, do some sightseeing or engage in a bit of shopping.

(Lunch is Not included as part of the wine tour!).

We can recommend restaurants in Riquewihr for lunch to suit your budget and requirements.

“What a WONDERFUL day spent traveling and tasting through Alsace with Colin! Prior to the trip, he asked our interest and customized a FANTASTIC day which allowed us to expand our wine knowledge and hone in on our preferred wine preferences. Colin was engaging and has a great life story, it was a day that seemed to pass much to quickly but ended with a purchase that we shall treasure and when opened will take us back to that sunny October day that we spent in Alsace with the charming and knowledgeable Colin.” RetiredAZtraveler Oct. 2022 (TripAdvisor).

We will then make our way up into the fabulous Schonenbourg Grand Cru vineyard, where you can observe the rich tapestry of the surrounding vineyards and the verdant, undulating, landscape stretching out before you.

Every wine lover dreams of being granted the opportunity to enjoy a glass of exquisite wine whilst standing in amongst the very vines from which that wine has originated.

At WineWeinVinoVin we will make that dream become a reality!

Savour this incredible experience of walking amongst the aged vines with a chilled glass of wine in your hand. Surveying the medieval villages that pepper this pristine landscape, their gentle slopes sprinkled with ancient family vineyards.

Clos Ste. Hune

For our next winery, we will head towards the delightful old village of Kientzheim, which lies beneath the vineyard laden slopes of the very first designated Grand Cru vineyard, home to two of the most dynamic wine producers in the region.

Here you will visit one of these fabulous artisanal wineries where you will taste some of the most exciting and critically acclaimed wines produced from the region.

The wines of both these Domaine’ reflect the ideals of Bio-dynamism and their commitment to sustainable working practices, combining both harmony and empathy in the vineyard.

Your day ends with a visit to the charming and delightful old town of Ribeauville, located at the very heart of the Alsatian region.

Renowned for its three magnificent Grand Cru’s, (Osterberg, Kirchberg and Geisberg). Ribeauville lies cradled in amongst this triptych of vineyard royalty.

At this historic old winery you will taste the driest and fruitiest of Rieslings alongside many of the most sumptuously noble grapes to be found in Alsace, including Sylvaner, Muscat, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.
