Let us reveal to you this historic region, filled with history lurking just around every corner, awaiting to be discovered by you.
Enjoy tasting fabulously exquisite wines from 3 small artisanal, world-renowned wine -making families.
The amazing Pinot Noir’s from this fabulous region are testament to the people, the viticultural practices and the land. The wineries here have been experimenting and perfecting the art of clonal selection, soil type and rootstock for generations.
On this extraordinary wine tour you will taste the phenomenal difference between Burgundian and Baden-Württemberg Pinot Noir clones.
“We finished a Rhine river cruise in Basel so we had tasted some lovely wine along the way. But our day with Colin was informative, beautiful and very exclusive. He picked us up and arranged tastings at extraordinary places. It felt and tasted like a dream. Only regret was not bringing wine suitcase so I could bring more home!!” 35Lorim Oct. 2022 (TripAdvisor).
The Badisch Weinstraße is one of the oldest and longest in the whole of Europe.
At over 200 kilometres long, the Baden-Württemberg wine route incorporates 5 wine growing districts, Ortenau, Kaiserstuhl, Tuniberg, Breisgau and Markgräftlerland.
Baden-Württemberg is the 4th largest wine producing region in Germany.
The region specialises in the red grape varietals of Pinot Noir, Spätburgunder and Trollinger.
Here in Baden-Württemberg you will find many Internationally recognised, Award-winning wines made by unique, small family-owned wineries.
Baden-Württemberg not only produces many of the world’s finest Pinot Noir’s but also revels in nurturing other famous varietals such as Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Muskateller, Gutedel and Chardonnay.
“Had such a fun day out with Colin. Amazing winery choices and good knowledge! Will 100% go back to a few of them with family and friends (and to stock up on more wine!) Got to learn so much about the process and care of making wine, about the regions and the history. Poor Colin for putting up with 5 ladies spending the entire day drinking… but he could handle us! :)” RebeccaS413 July 2020 (TripAdvisor).
The wines from Baden-Württemberg are a rare find indeed, as they are hardly ever exported, the production being kept mostly in Germany for the domestic market.
Often compared to the great Pinot Noir’s of Burgundy, on this tour you will get to experience these fascinating wines that have upon numerous occasions outperformed those from Burgundy.
