The amazing Spätburgunder’s (Pinot Noir) from this fabulous region are testament to not only the people, but the strict viticultural practices and the many different soil types.

“WineWeinVinoVin is amazing! Colin is incredibly professional and knowledgeable about the region. Highly recommend his services to anyone looking to explore the region of Alsace! He took us to a variety of producers in various regions within Alsace and gave us a great sense of the region and the wines. Colin is very responsive throughout the planning process and will cater to the specific asks/needs of the people looking to book. He is also such a fun time – spent the whole day laughing and smiling!” Justinfwineguy Oct. 2022 (TripAdvisor).

Our first winery will be with the regions outstanding producer of Pinot Noir.

His Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) wines regularly out-perform those of Burgundy, Oregon and others from around the world. We will taste several varietals including, Weissburgunder, Gutedel, Grauburgunder, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah.

Here we will also get the unique opportunity to sample his estate and multi-award winning single vineyard wines.

After this wonderful tasting we will then travel to a small Winstub in one of the small villages where you will have lunch (not included in the price of the tour)

We will then drive up through the many beautiful vineyards that decorate the slopes on the Kaiserstuhl most notably the Achkarren and the Totenkopf.

Located in the heart of the Achkarren dwells one of the most renowned and oldest of the Co-operatives. This winery will furnish us with an insight into both traditional and contempory wine-making practices.

Here you will taste their wonderful Grauburgunder, the wine that made this winery world famous.

We will also sample many other wines most notaby their rich, fruity and thoroughly delightful Spätburgunder.

Finally we will head back down through the Kaiserstuhl vineyards which pepper the graceful terraces of this majestic dormant volcano and to our final winery of the day.

This small family owned winery is a member of the VdP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).

VdP is the premier German wine classification that ensures wines must adhere to specific rules and regulations therby guaranteeing the magnificent wines produced at this winery are of exceptional quality.

The talented winemaker here creates wines of great depth, purity of fruit and intense concentration. Here we will taste his Ortswein (village), Erste Lage (Premier Cru) & Grosse Gewächs (Great Growth) at this delightful winery.
